This Privacy Policy explains how Sakina ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Sakina iOS app and this website.

Information we collect

  • App data you enter. Optional name, prayer logs, fasting logs, cycle entries, bookmarks, and settings you save in the app.
  • Sister Circles content. If you use Sister Circles, we store your display name, circle name, and the content you share (such as dua requests and Ramadan updates) in iCloud (CloudKit) so circle members can view it.
  • Location. If you grant permission, we use precise location to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. We do not store your exact location on our servers.
  • Purchases. Apple handles subscription payments. We receive subscription status but not your payment details.
  • Support messages. If you contact us by email or the website form, we receive the information you provide (such as name, email address, and message).

How we use information

  • Provide app features like prayer times, tracking, and Quran tools.
  • Enable Sister Circles sharing when you choose to use it.
  • Schedule local notifications for prayer reminders.
  • Respond to support requests and improve the app.

How we share information

  • Apple services. We use Apple services for iCloud (CloudKit) and in-app purchases.
  • Media providers. When you stream Quran audio or live mosque content, your device connects to third-party providers (such as EveryAyah, mp3quran, or YouTube), which may receive standard network data like your IP address.
  • Sister Circles members. Content you share in Sister Circles is visible to circle members you invite or join.

Data storage and retention

Most app data is stored locally on your device. Sister Circles content is stored in iCloud (CloudKit). You can delete the app to remove local data. To remove Sister Circles content, you may leave the circle or contact us for assistance.

Your choices

  • Disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Turn off prayer notifications in the app or iOS Settings.
  • Delete the app to remove local data.

Children

Sakina is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
